*Irish Dance*
made for Riley Kish by CarlaC

Happy little Riley is ready to dance a jig!  She has been taking Irish dance lessons, and is going to get to show off her steps in the St. Patrick's Day Feis.  All of the dancers will be wearing beautiful costumes adorned with intricate Celtic designs.  Riley is very proud of her costume, which was made especially for her by her own mum!

Riley's costume is made from wool felt in a deep forest green.  It features flared sleeves and a very full skirt with hot pink silk dupioni kick pleats.  The underside of the skirt is lined with teal dupioni.

All of the skirt panels are embellished with Celtic knot appliques, which were cut from sparkly silk dupioni in contrasting shades of pink, gold, and teal.  The appliques are outlined with golden floss hand embroidery.

The bodice and sleeves are embellished with designs to echo the skirt motif.  A matching headpiece is held in place with a thin bit of elastic.  Riley's long pretty hair is easily curled by putting in some hairpin "rollers" before bedtime and misting with a bit of water.

Riley's cape is decorated to match her dress.  It is edged and lined with teal dupioni, and attaches to the dress at the shoulders with tiny snaps.

Riley wears
black lace-up Ghillies and white socks on her dancing feet.  Her bright pink lollies are a necessity for leaps in the air!

You are bidding on the dress, cape, shoes, socks, bloomers, and headpiece only - my sweet little lass Riley is not included.  This outfit was made by me, CarlaC, in my cozy, smoke-free home.  I welcome and questions or comments.
