Dream a little dream...
Bethany's favorite place in the whole wide world is her own beautiful bedroom. It is the ideal setting for playing dress-up, reading stories, and of course, dreaming sweet dreams. I have created this furniture especially for Bethany using my favorite artistic techniques. The whimsical combination of sweet pastels, lovely prints, and rich textures invokes a regal, yet charmingly innocent feel fit for a piquant princess such as Bethany.
This unique bed is sure to be conducive to dreams of castles, fairies, and eating ice cream. It is constructed from wood and is all surfaces are painted. The deco-style headboard is adorned with a pique assiette mosaic of stained glass and bits of china. In the center of the headboard is a cluster of "Old Country Roses," a charming pattern by Royal Doulton. Surrounding the roses is a border of vintage blue china interlaced with a pretty pink stained glass bow. The headboard is edged with dainty bits of vintage china and white guimp trim. The mosaic is finished with grout in a sweet icing pink color . The mattress is made from foam and is covered with white sheeting. The dust ruffle is made from pink cotton trimmed in white satin ribbon and is attached to the bed along with the mattress.
Bethany’s bedding is made from nostalgic fabrics and is simply dreamy. The scalloped coverlet is made from a striped cotton with mill-embroidered roses. It looks so pretty turned down with her scalloped eyelet sheet peeking out. Her pillow has a matching removable eyelet pillowcase. She has a pile of other pillows - a big pillow with a pink chenille sham, an eyelet bolster (perfect for sitting up and reading stories), a crochet lace-covered throw pillow with a cluny ruffle, a round cabbage rose pillow with a ruffle, a blue and pink chenille patchy square pillow, and - last but not least - a gingham and calicp neckroll with silk ribbon rosebuds. A cute chenille teddy bear with a pink bow tie is also included for cuddling.
Bethany’s Treasure Chest
Bethany’s treasure chest is hand-painted with a gingham effect and a spray of flowers. The edges of the base and top are painted in light blue with little white polka dots. The top is a mosaic of gold-rimmed china and a bouquet of country roses.
Bethany’s knee-length nightie is made from white dotted Swiss and is lined with white batiste. It closes in the back with snaps. The bodice is embroidered with pink silk ribbon rosebuds.
