Made for 31.5" Himstedt Mari by CarlaC
Beautiful Mari is ready to behold the wonders of spring in her *Cottage Garden*
A sweet, one-of-a-kind ensemble created from several varieties of the gorgeous and popular "Hannah Bella" rose fabrics by Robyn Pandolph. This dreamy yellow confection is simply blooming with handwork and vintage touches.
Mari's vest is made of the boldest of the rose fabrics. It is lined with a dusty rose satin, and padded with a thin cotton quilt batting. Each flower, stem, and leaf is accented with hand quilted stitches, giving the vest texture and dimension. The front closure is accented with a soft-sculpted satin rose with quilted leaves.
The base of the vest is trimmed with a vintage cluny lace that has aged to the perfect shade of cream.
I love the way this hat frames Mari's pretty face! The solid yellow brim is edged with a bit of delicate vintage lace. The gathered crown is made of a wild rose print. The band, which is made of the same fabric as the vest, has a bit of piping through th ecenter. A big bloom with alternating shiny and matte satin petals and quilted sage green leaves graces the side of the band.
The wild rose clusters are repeated on the capri-length pantlets. The leg openings are finished with a thin strip of solid yellow fabric and the vintage cluny lace.
The skirt of Mari's dress is made from the daintiest of the prints - little rose medallions surrounded by tiny dots. The skirt hem is edged with lace, and the center of the waistline is adorned with a delicate vintage lace bow.
The high neckline (which is particularly becoming to a Himstedt girl) is trimmed with the little rose fabric, as are the sleeve cuffs. The solid yellow bodice has a mock placket with antique mother-of-pearl buttons flanked by hand-embroidered silk ribbon roses and buds.
