Sometimes it is hard to get little ones to go to bed, especially when they are having fun, fun fun! Even though Riley insists that she isn’t tired, she falls right to sleep as soon as her head hits the soft pillow. She is bound to have sweet dreams in this lovely confection of a bed.
The bed is constructed from wood and is base-coated with ivory paint. The edges of the are headboard adorned with delicate vintage lace and painted with dainty rosebuds. In the center of the headboard is a decoupaged toile scene surrounded by ivory guimp trim. The mattress is made from foam and is covered with white cotton. The dust ruffle is made from white eyelet and is attached to the bed along with the mattress.
Riley’s bedding is made from nostalgic fabrics and is simply dreamy. The reversible coverlet is made from pink chenille and dotted Swiss. It looks so pretty turned down with her scalloped eyelet sheet peeking out. Her pillow has a matching removable eyelet pillow. She has lots of other pillows - a big pillow with a pink chenille sham, a crochet lace-covered throw pillow with cluny ruffle, a round dotted Swiss pillow with a ruffle and silk ribbon rosebuds, and - last but not least - an eyelet neckroll, which is perfect for sitting up and reading stories. With all of these pillows, it is hard to resist pillow fights when tiny Ann Estelle stays over. Sometimes mom has to hide the pillows just to get the girls to quiet down. Maybe she hides them under the bed...
Riley’s Toy Chest
Riley’s toy chest is decoupaged with toile, just like her bed. It is also adorned with rose decals and dainty tatting. It makes the perfect home for her jointed bunny, but Riley would rather keep him on the bed so she can snuggle him at night.
Riley’s babydoll pj’s are made from white eyelet. The top is lined with batiste and closes in the back with a snap. It has a pink silk ribbon at the neckline. The bloomers have an elastic waist and are gathered at the legs with ribbon. She also has fluffy pink bedroom slippers.
